ship-jumper's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No Valium for me! It's about time I got with it. I've contemplated it. I've asked questions of it to acaldwell. I've even downloaded it only to ignore it. Finally, after some 'how-to' support from bluesleepy I have activated, customized, and am now using it. Google Reader!! Oh my goodness, why did I not get with it sooner! It makes reading everyone's updates SO much easier. Rather than logging into d-land and looking for the red updated names only to have them disappear after clicking on the first one read, and then needing to slowly scroll and look at the updated times, I now feel as though I've gotten a brand new car. Yes, the lovely google reader lets me know with the click of a button who has updated and clicky click, I go and read their entry! And, their names will stay in bold print until I actually read them should I not have time at that given moment. I LOVE IT!! Not to mention I can easily tell when other websites I follow are updated. If you haven't tried it or any other rss reader...get with it!! On another note. Most of you by now have probably seen the Dramatic Prairie Dog videos that are all over youtube. He really is a cute little stinker, and some of them just make me crack up in a huge way. Well, for those of you that haven't seen him yet or for those of you who have, this is a new one that is freaking hysterical. Please please take a short moment and watch this just so you can say "Yeah I know who Dramatic Prairie Dog is and I've seen his latest!" It's funny! You have to love the dude or dudette who created that little scenario! Now, these are the typical videos you will see of the Dramatic Prairie Dog. There are a whack load of different scenarios people have put him in. THIS one however, puts them all to shame! It is a wee bit longer than the typical running about a minute long. However, it did have Kels and I laughing so hard we thought we may pee in our pants. Check it out! Hey, it doesn't take much for me to get a laugh going. What can I say? Today is a gorgeous day outside. It is the 'May Two-Four' weekend which is the kick-off to the camping scene and the let's-go-to-the-cottage weekends of the year. (yes, they say cottage here rather than cabin) Sunday and Monday night will no doubt be festooned with everyone shooting off fireworks and getting loaded. It is SO odd driving down city streets and seeing huge tents on the sides of the road advertising fireworks for sale! I just can't get used to it. I did see this when I lived in Portland, OR yet I am just not used to these things being legal!! In MN all that you could legally buy were those carbon snake thingies that shriveled up on the sidewalk or those stupid sparklers. Here, you can purchase things that will no doubt take your arm or the very least your hand off should you make a mistake. It is wild! And people shoot them off anywhere and everywhere. The biggest bummer about this for me is that poor little Ipo is scared (sounds like:) witless of fireworks and or thunderstorms. Her little heart goes a racing so dang fast and she pants and pants and pants, and nestles herself behind the toilet to endure the frightful session. In MN I actually had to give her puppy valium during thunderstorms because she would get so worked up. Last year I came close to needing to dose her on this very weekend. Ugh, I so hope I don't need to this year. She is a sad thing to see when she is all drugged up! At any rate, Happy May 'Two-four" weekend to any Canadians out there! 1:34 p.m. - 2008-05-17 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
