ship-jumper's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Success! Just a quickie as I'm out on the balcony for this entry and my battery on my laptop bites the big one. I really need to get me a new one so that I can be "free" from the wall outlet for more than ten minutes at a time! Thanks to all for the kind words, support and emails regarding Kel's surgery. I haven't had much of a chance to get an update on here as to how it all went. Hopefully you all just assumed that 'no news is good news!' Her surgery went GREAT! Hour and a half and she was in recovery after a smooth sailing surgery with no complications. They did end up having to make an extra incision so she hast four of those little critters, but by doing so they didn't have to open her wide up so that is a good thing! And she was quite adorable when first in recovery and still looped up on the drugs I have to say. So much stress had been lifted off of her! I was able to have her home and laying in bed by about 2 PM on Monday and she's been resting and letting me wait on her hand and foot. She is still REALLY sore, and swears I've been using her tummy as a punching bag while she sleeps, but she is doing really well. Today the goal is to get her to walk the full length of the corridor outside the apartment, or at least to the end and back as we are in the middle of the corridor next to the elevators. Her spirits are good, and she is healing marvelously. She's taking in solids and holding them down and everything is coming along nicely. Today she will get a pedicure and new nail polish on her tosies, providing of course she makes her trek down the hallway. I told her that would be her reward. See? I'm not a total Nurse Ratchet! I love her so much and while it's hard to see her in so much discomfort and pain, it is so great to know that the pain and attacks of that darn gall bladder are a thing of the past! And she can eat the things she likes again!! Oh lordy, I sense an outing for Poutine coming up in the next few weeks! Thanks again for the kinds words.
