ship-jumper's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- She keeps crackin me up! My ship has sunk. Or at least it has a major hole in it. I'm no longer able to float on the seas of cyberland. Ugh. I dropped the stinkin laptop today and poof! The wireless network card I have busted. Wwwaaaaaaa!!! It amazes me just how much I am at a loss without the et dancing at my finger tips! Sooo sad. My lovely Ipo Princess has now decided she is a hunter of Clydesdale horses and that she can take any of them on....and wants to desperately. Last night Kel and I were driving in the car, and the Princess was on my lap playing the pat of co-pilot. We were sitting at a stop light downtown and waiting for a beautiful horse-drawn carriage to pass us by. Ipo wasn't going to have that without strutting her stuff and showing those Clyde's who was boss. It was hysterical. All of a sudden Ipo catches them in her view and went OFF like a little crack addict who could smell their next fix. She was barking up a storm and growling at them while trying to jump through the windshield. I damn near peed my pants. Ummm....the dog weighs a whole 9 pounds and she really thought she could take on not only one mongo horse, but two! She finally settled as they passed and she felt that she had won the turf war. A little later we passed them again and she again told them they needed to get the heck away from her. Dogs are just so darn funny. I would hate to think what she'd have done if we'd been walking by them! So much for thoughts of taking a nice carriage ride through the park someday. Guess we'll be leaving her home when we do that! The other cute update on this goofy dog? Some of you may recall my mentioning wonderment over her breed identity issues. Yes, she thinks at times she is a Great Dane but this is not uncommon for small dogs. More odd is when she finds acorns on our walks, brings them home, and guards them for days on end and walks around with them in her mouth. I swear at times she may think she is a squirrel. That thought has been made even more solid, as she now as shown us she is a pro at peanut eating. We have whackloads of shelled peanuts on hand so that we can feed the squirrels that visit our kitchen door all of the time. They come and take them out of our hands and if we don't havethem they sit and stare at us with these looks in their eyes that make you feel so damned guilty. I found the little one chomping on something a few weeks ago. Yes, the little one being Ipo. When I looked to see what it was she of course wouldn't let me near so I just continuted to watch. The little shit had managed to find herself a peanut! And....she is an AWESOME peanut eater!! She holds that thing between her front paws and nibbles just like a flippin squirrel....removes the shell....and removes that paper like skin that is around the peanuts....and just eats the nut!! Now how smart is that?? Smart.....or perhaps snooty. I'm not sure which. And let me tell ya, Kel really hates cleaning up all of those peanut shell remnants from the carpet or the couch. But I can't help it. She is too cute eating her peanut and pretending to be a squirrel. So I give her more. And I will continue to give her more. Peanuts galore for the dog who thinks she is at times a cat, a great dane, a clydesdale horse, a male dog (if you saw how much she humps her toys you'd understand that one), a princess and now a squirrel.
