Shippie does 'the list'

Ok ok Ok…I am finally doing one of these lists. I’ve never done one, but thecrankyone inspired me. I consider myself tagged, so if you too feel ‘tagged’ after reading then you will have to include it in your next entry. Truth be told, I’m at a loss for a topic to write about so this way I don’t have to think too much.

Not 100, not 50, but 46 things about Me:

1) How old do you wish you were?
Can’t say as I wish to be any age other than what I am now. Although, I would love to a dog for just one day to see what they are thinking. Does that count?

2) Where were you when 9/11 happened?
Driving to work. Got a call from the housemate and thought she had lost it and was being overly dramatic. Got to work and confirmed it on the television and sent everyone home for the day. Stat glued in front of the tv at my desk for about 3 hours before I could get myself to drive home.

3) What do you do when vending machines steal your money?
Throw my hip in to it to jiggle what was supposed to be mine if that is the case. Sometimes I’ll throw more money in the machine to try and get what I’m desperately seeking. Most of the time I just walk away and try a different machine. Screw trying to get the money back.

4) Do you consider yourself kind?
Absolutely! I don’t think I’m egotistical for saying so either. I truly believe you get back what you put out. Too, it’s much easier to be kind. Many in my life have treated me with an incredible amount of kindness and love and what good is it if you can’t pass that on?

5) If you HAD to get a tattoo, where would it be?
I have a couple and I love them, so there isn’t any arm twisting here. Hoping to get another one soon on the small of my back, and also hoping to add to one I’ve had on my left shoulder blade for years.

6) If you could be fluent in any other language, what would it be?
I wouldn’t mind being more fluent in Spanish then I am already. French would be awesome ‘cuz it’s so damn sexy sounding!

7) Do you know your neighbors?
Oh yes! Always a must to know the neighbors!

8) What do you consider a vacation/holiday?
Sleeping in, or doing anything on the spur of the moment that is out of the ordinary. This can be with a loved one or even solo. Both equally enjoyable to me.

9) Do you follow your horoscope?
Lordy no. They hire creative writers to write those things. However I do believe there is a lot of validity to Astrology in general but you need to dig in to get to the real stuff.

10) Are you touchy feely?
Very much so! Love it! I think the act of touch is very healing and powerful so I do it as much as I can with obviously respecting others’ boundaries. I hope this question wasn’t in regards to being touchy-feely with myself however. If so, I will plead the 5th!

11) Do you believe that opposites attract?
Absolutely. I can’t think of a time I’ve been attracted to someone exactly like me. Lord, I don’t think I’ve ever met someone exactly like me, thank gawd!

12) Dream job?
Acting. I’d love to be doing that on a full time basis. I’d also love to work with the homeless, getting them into permanent housing and helping them get back into mainstream feeling that they are valued and important. Oh wait, that’s what I do! Woo hoo! I have my dream job I guess!

13) Favorite channel(s)?
I have no idea. Haven’t figured out the channels up here yet. Ummmm …. Discovery Channel and Court TV are good ones, as is BBC. Love the British humour!

15) Favorite place to go on weekends?
Road trip to nowhere. Right now any place is great as it is still all very new to me up here!

16) Showers or Baths?
Showers when alone. Baths when ….. oh shut up. You get the idea.

17) Do you paint your nails?
Only if I’m painting the walls and I’m being messy/careless.

18) Do you trust people easily?
I do, but I also have a pretty good ‘sense’ when meeting people and I try to trust those feelings. For the most part I’ll trust anyone until they give me a reason not to, and then it is very difficult for the trust to be there. Not that I don’t forgive mind you, but there is a difference there.

19) What are your phobias?
I will say that fire scares the bejeebies out of me. That is one thing I don’t ever want to experience! Also, I still have a ‘thing’ since being attacked many years ago that makes me aware of my environment and always what is behind me. At restaurants I always sit myself in a way that I am facing the door and can see what is coming towards me.

20) Do you want kids?
Nopers. From the time in 7th grade when I declared I was never having kids so I didn’t need to menstruate I’ve never had the maternal urge. Lots of reasons behind that, but I have no regrets. I prefer to be the favourite Auntie, and then be able to send the kids back home after I spoil them rotten.

21) Do you keep a handwritten journal?
Yeppers. Not as consistent as I used to be, but I do log my thoughts and lots of times my dreams from the night before.

22) Where would you rather be right now?
Right now I’m cool! Perhaps snuggled in bed with CK rather than in this chair? If I could I’d love to take a trip back to Mpls and see my buddy “Patsy” whom I miss dearly and sounds as if she’s in rough shape, or in Texas to see my old school buddy that I just recently connected with after almost twenty years.

24) Heavy or light sleeper?
Wonderfully heavy. It’s the falling asleep part that unfortunately doesn’t always occur anymore.

25) Are you paranoid?
No way. Why? Do you know something I don’t? What have they said about me? Tell me! Do you believe what they say? Are they going to come get me? Oh my gosh, they told you didn’t they??!!!!!!

26) Are you impatient?
Well it always depends. I’d like to say yes but in truth there are sometimes I am just an unruly and impatient SOB.

27) Who can you relate to?
Anyone if I stop and listen. A good saying I heard years ago is very simple and has stuck with me…”Don’t look for the differences. Always look for the similarities.” It’s amazing how alike we all really are.

28) What's your main ringtone on your cell?
This truly has to be the stupidest question. Who the heck knows or really cares? Cell phones need to all be tossed in ocean. Or perhaps we could send them all to the base of a volcano, blow the whole thing up and start a religion called Cellentology?? The root of all our problems could then be blamed for the amass of Thetans on our bodies left from the blowing up of these phones. The particles have attached themselves to us. AAAarrrggghhhh!! Think we could get Tom Cruise to be our spokesman for this new world order?

29) What were you doing at midnight last night?
Watching stupid clips on youtube.com about people falling and slipping on their arses.

30) What did the last text on your mobile phone say?
“Honey I love you with all my heart!” from my wife. Gotta just love her eh?!

31) Name 3 things you have on you at all times.
This has changed as CK is the one who carries a purse so she carries my stuff now! Ummmm, I can’t say my mind as most would contest that…..I can’t say my underwear as I don’t always wear those….ok ok ok, I have my wit, spunk, and my immigration papers!

32) How much money do you have on you?
I can’t say because my wife may read this and then she’ll know! Besides….this is another stupid question. Why would anyone care?

33) What is your favorite part of the chicken?
The feet. Chickens strut so damn funny, they really know how to use those feet! Oh wait. I think this referred to the part to eat. Well I guess that would be the wing as I love chowin chicken wings with all different flavours. Need I say the breast is my favourite?

34) What's your favorite town/city?
So far it’s got to be Portland, OR. Love love love it! Vancouver, BC is right up there too!

35) Who got you to start an online journal?
My auntie poo poo! She is the bomb I say! Bless her heart for starting her own. Most of you know her as poolagirl. If you haven’t ever read her, ya best sail on over and check her out!

36) What did you have for dinner last night?
Curried chicken with broccoli on rice, and some Baklava for dessert. Yum yum yum. Thank you honey!

37) How tall are you barefoot?
5’8 I think. I used to be a bit taller but I’m assuming I’ve shrunk as we all eventually do.

38) What do you prefer to drink in the morning?
1. coffee 2. water 3. Repeat three times and eventually clarity will return.

39) Do you have A.D.D.?
Oh for pete’s sake. Who the heck wrote these questions? That would be a no, thank goodness.

40) Favorite place to be?
Anywhere that I can be by a body of water or IN a body of water, even if that means my bathtub.

41) Where would you like to travel?
Ireland, Austrailia/New Zealand, Greece, and I could go on and on here.

42) Where do you think you'll be in 10 yrs?
I’d love to be back on the west coast in Vancouver, British Columbia. However, wherever we are, then as long as CK is with me I’m happy!

43) What songs do you sing in the shower?
I make up my own songs when I’m in the shower. I sing whatever is in my head! Hours of entertainment!

44) Worst injury you've ever had.
Hmmm. I’d say breaking both lower leg bones in high school while ‘hot-dogging’ it down the ski hill (both bones smack dab in half….leg was backwards at one point…gag) Or the other would have to be the damn injuries sustained to my little brain from the dumb ass medical treatment I received some years ago. I’m still paying for their damn f&#k ups! (no hostility there eh?)

45) What is your favorite candy?
butterscotch lifesavers, lemon drops, jaw breakers, or licorice!

46) What song is stuck in your head?
Don’t have one thankfully and I’m not forcing myself to see if one is stuck there. My head is like a damn 8-track tape when it comes to songs getting stuck in there. It drives me nuts! I’m thankful I don’t have one in there now, thank you very much!

Whew!! Ok! I am done! Hmmm, I just re-read all of that and realized there are some numbers missing as the questions do not go in consecutive order. I cut and pasted this, so someone before me must have not wanted to answer some certain questions! Hmmmm, oh now I wonder just what those were?? Juicy ones I bet that would have perhaps made this more entertaining to read! Okie dokie. I am going to go to bed now. Much to be done tomorrow. Peace to all of you!
